BISP 8171 Payment 2026

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is currently releasing its July–September 2026 quarterly installment under the Benazir Kafalat Programme. If you’re a registered beneficiary, here’s everything you need to know about your payment amount, how to check your status, where to collect it, and what to do if something goes wrong.

How Much Is the Current BISP Payment?

The quarterly Kafalat stipend now stands at Rs. 14,500, up from the earlier Rs. 13,500. This increase was announced by BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid earlier in 2026 and has applied since the Ramzan 2026 cycle. That means eligible women can now receive up to Rs. 58,000 a year under this program.

It’s worth knowing this isn’t the final increase either — the federal government has already approved a further raise to Rs. 19,500 per quarter, though that change takes effect from January 2027. For now, the current July–September 2026 cycle continues at Rs. 14,500.

Who Is Eligible for BISP Kafalat Payments?

BISP uses a Proxy Means Test (PMT) score to identify genuinely deserving households. The main eligibility conditions are:

  • PMT score below 32
  • Applicant must be the female head of the household
  • A valid, biometrically-verified CNIC
  • Completion of the NSER Dynamic Survey
  • No ownership of large assets (land, vehicles, property beyond program limits)
  • Not employed in a government job
  • No record of significant overseas travel history

Families whose circumstances improve — for example, a rise in income or a change in household assets recorded during a fresh survey — can be automatically removed from the active beneficiary list. This is why keeping your household data updated matters.

Important: There is currently no way to check your exact PMT score through the 8171 portal or SMS service. To confirm your score, you need to visit your nearest BISP Tehsil Office in person with your original CNIC and request a PMT verification slip.

How to Check Your BISP Payment Status by CNIC

You have two easy options to check your status, and both pull data from the same official BISP database.

Option 1: Online via the 8171 Web Portal

  1. Visit the official portal: 8171.bisp.gov.pk
  2. Enter your 13-digit CNIC number (without dashes or spaces)
  3. Complete the captcha verification
  4. Click submit

The system will show your eligibility status, payment amount, and whether your installment is ready for collection.

Option 2: SMS Method

If you don’t have internet access, simply send your 13-digit CNIC number (without spaces) to 8171 from your registered mobile number. You’ll receive a reply with your current status.

Both methods work on all major networks — Jazz, Zong, Ufone, and Telenor — but only mobile numbers registered against your CNIC in the BISP system will work reliably.

Why Your District Might Not Have Received Payment Yet

BISP releases each quarterly installment in phases, district by district, rather than all at once nationwide. If your area hasn’t entered its active payment phase yet, your CNIC check may simply show “pending” rather than an error. This is completely normal — keep checking every few days rather than assuming there’s a problem with your file.

How to Collect Your Payment

BISP offers several ways to withdraw your installment, and a new digital option has also started rolling out in parts of Punjab this year.

1. HBL or Bank Alfalah Retailers

  • Visit any authorized retailer
  • Provide your CNIC
  • Complete fingerprint (biometric) verification
  • Collect your payment and keep the printed receipt

2. HBL ATMs (for verified women beneficiaries)

  • Enter your CNIC number
  • Verify via fingerprint
  • Select the BISP payment option
  • Withdraw your installment

3. BISP Campsites

Some districts still run dedicated camps for women, elderly, and disabled beneficiaries who may find it difficult to travel to a retailer or ATM.

4. Digital Wallet (JazzCash) — New for 2026

A growing number of Punjab beneficiaries are now receiving payments directly into a JazzCash digital wallet instead of collecting cash at a campsite. This option reduces travel time and wait times significantly where it has been rolled out. Check the 8171 portal to see whether this option applies to your account.

Reminder: BISP payments are completely free. No retailer, agent, or “helper” is authorized to charge you a fee for withdrawal.

Documents to Bring When Collecting Payment

  • Original CNIC (biometrically enabled)
  • Mobile number registered under your CNIC
  • 8171 confirmation SMS, if received (helpful but not always mandatory)
  • Child’s B-Form, if collecting Benazir Taleemi Wazaif education stipends

Without a biometric-enabled CNIC, your payment cannot be released at any collection point.

New Registrations: What You Need to Know

A common misunderstanding is that people can register for BISP directly through the 8171 portal or website. This is not true. The 8171 system is only for checking eligibility and payment status — not for new applications.

To register as a new applicant:

  1. Visit your nearest BISP Tehsil Office
  2. Collect a free token for the NSER Dynamic Survey
  3. Provide accurate household, income, and family details
  4. Keep your survey receipt safe for future reference
  5. Wait for verification, which usually takes several weeks

Once approved, you can check your status through the 8171 system like any other beneficiary.

Fixing Payment Delays or Errors

If your payment doesn’t arrive, or your status shows an issue, here’s what typically causes it and how to resolve it:

ProblemLikely CauseWhat to Do
Status shows “Under Verification”Missing or outdated NSER dataVisit your Tehsil Office for a Dynamic Survey update
Biometric fails at collection pointFingerprint mismatch with NADRA recordVisit a designated biometric re-verification center
No payment despite eligible statusDistrict payment phase not yet activeRecheck status every 2–3 days
Status shows “Not Eligible”PMT score above threshold or asset mismatchRequest review at your Tehsil Office

How to File a Complaint

If you believe your payment is being wrongly delayed or withheld, you can raise a complaint through:

  1. BISP Helpline — call the official number listed on bisp.gov.pk
  2. Tehsil Office Visit — bring your CNIC and any related receipts
  3. Online Complaint Portal — available through the official BISP website

Common complaints include payments not received, failed biometric verification, retailers deducting unauthorized amounts, or incorrect district information. Most complaints are resolved within a couple of weeks, though timelines can vary by case.

Staying Safe from Fraud

BISP has repeatedly warned beneficiaries about scam messages pretending to be from the program. Keep these points in mind:

  • 8171 is the only official BISP number. Messages from any other number claiming to be BISP should be treated as fraud.
  • Never share your CNIC, OTP, or personal banking details with unknown callers or WhatsApp numbers.
  • No one is authorized to charge you a fee for registration, verification, or payment collection.
  • Always verify your status through the official portal before acting on any message.
