Vision Behind the Youth Year Initiative

The core vision behind declaring 2026 as the Youth Year is to bridge the gap between education and global market demands. The government recognizes that traditional systems are no longer enough; hence, they are integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital skills into the mainstream provincial agenda.

“Youth Year ka maqsad naujawano ko taleem, technology aur rozgar ke behtar moqay faraham karna hai.”

This initiative targets the reduction of youth unemployment by creating an ecosystem where startups can flourish. By establishing IT cities and AI research centers, Punjab is positioning itself as a hub for innovation in South Asia. The goal is simple: to make every young resident of Punjab self-reliant, skilled, and ready to lead in the global digital economy.

Laptop Program Expansion for Students

To support digital learning and research, the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme is getting a massive expansion in 2026. Every year, 100,000 free laptops will be distributed to brilliant students on a purely merit-based system.

“Laptop scheme ka maqsad students ko digital education ke liye tayar karna hai.”

This program is designed for students enrolled in public sector colleges and universities. By providing high-specification laptops, the government ensures that financial constraints do not stop a talented student from accessing global knowledge, coding, or freelancing opportunities. Special quotas are also reserved for students of “Deeni Madaris” to ensure inclusive digital growth.

“Scholarships ghareeb aur mehnati students ke liye taleem ka raasta asaan banati hain.”

For the first time, a special Overseas Scholarship Scheme has been launched, allowing deserving students to pursue higher education in 500 top-ranked global institutions. The government will cover full tuition fees, visa costs, and even maintenance allowances, ensuring that merit is the only criteria for success, not your bank balance.

“Hukumat ne naujawano ke liye arabon rupay ke budget ki manzoori di hai.”

The implementation is being monitored through AI-based systems to ensure transparency and eliminate “VIP culture.” Whether it’s the distribution of bikes or the award of scholarships, every process is digitalized. Computerized e-balloting and merit lists are used to ensure that only the most deserving candidates receive these benefits without any political influence.
