A key feature of this initiative is the launch of the Mehfooz Muharram App, a digital platform designed to enhance public safety and improve coordination between citizens and law enforcement agencies.
The new security framework combines modern technology, drone surveillance, and real-time monitoring to create a safer environment for Majalis and religious processions during Muharram.
Mehfooz Muharram App Introduced for Public Safety
For the first time in Islamabad, authorities have developed the Mehfooz Muharram App as part of an advanced security strategy. The application allows citizens to actively participate in maintaining security by reporting suspicious individuals, unusual activities, or security concerns directly to relevant authorities.
The app also includes live location-sharing and image-sharing features, enabling law enforcement agencies to respond more quickly to potential threats or emergencies. Officials believe this digital solution will significantly improve communication between the public and security departments during Muharram.

Advanced Surveillance and Security Monitoring Across Islamabad

During a high-level review meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, authorities finalized extensive arrangements for Muharram security. A four-tier security cordon will be deploy around all Majalis and processions to ensure maximum protection.
Strict security checks will be conduct at all entry and exit points of procession routes and gathering venues. Security personnel will remain on high alert throughout the holy month to maintain law and order and respond immediately to any security-related situation.

Coordination with Religious Scholars and Community Leaders
Officials have emphasized the importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies, religious scholars, and procession organizers. Continuous communication will be maintain with Majalis organizers and religious leaders to ensure that all events proceed peacefully.
Authorities have also activated Peace Committees and Nigehban Committees to support security efforts and promote harmony during Muharram. These committees will work closely with local administration and police departments to address community concerns and encourage compliance with security guidelines.
The Interior Ministry has instructed authorities to strictly enforce the code of conduct and adopt a zero-tolerance policy against any provocative, inflammatory, or hate-based material that could disturb public peace.
